Seattle Trip Day 1

Matt Guss, the President of the Seattle Pipe Club invited me out for their 10th Anniversary Dinner this Saturday and I graciously accepted. I decided if I am going to fly across the country that I should at least make a few days of it.
When I was leaving on Wednesday, January 26, there were tornadoes in Tampa (my home airport), a blizzard was headed to Washington DC where they were canceling flights (my connection airport), and I think it was raining in Seattle, but that is normal.
As usual, fate was smiling down on me. I made it to Seattle and when I got here, it was sunny and warm at around 57 degrees.
I got a nice deal on a room at the Grand Hyatt that I couldn’t pass up. Plus, Laura was supposed to come on this trip, so I normally stay in nice places when she is with me. However, she couldn’t make it because of a last minute family emergency.
The Hyatt is awesome and it is still not raining on Thursday morning.
Here are some photos of the trip so far.

Since were in Seattle, you even get an Umbrella in your room
Since we're in Seattle, you even get an Umbrella in your room

I will bring the umbrella with me, therefore guaranteeing that it won’t rain today.
I’m off to see F.K. Kirsten Pipe Co. with pipes, camera and umbrella in hand.

  • We had a couple tornados touchdown up here in Jacksonville. Hope the rest of the trip goes well!

  • That’s the Northwest for you. The weather can be dreary and disappointing, but it seldom can kill you.
    Enjoy the Pipe Club gathering!
