Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 633. Our featured guest tonight is Jon David Cole. JD is the Owner/Tobacconist at The Country Squire in Jackson, MS, and the accompanying online store. We’ll have JD and Brian talking about what’s new at the store and in the business in general. At the top of the show, Brian will discuss tobacco growing, what happens to the leaf, and provide updated information on where tobacco is being gown today. Tobacco production originated in the United States and we were once the #1 producer. It’s quite different now.

It is very dismaying to hear how tobacco production worldwide has had such a drastic geographic shift. And yet, there are plenty of fine commercial blends available. Sure, many great classic blends are gone, and tobacco “aficionados” will bemoan the present situation. But really, get over it and enjoy what’s here. Perhaps a Country Squire blend?
Another fun J.D. visit. His Vegas Show review was nicely nuanced.
Jon’s Charatan and Savinelli (and your Satou) stories were cool.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Vince Guaraldi ensemble’s performance of “The Great Pumpkin Waltz.” It’s my favorite Halloween show.
I completely sympathize with your rant. My phone and email in-box have been similarly crammed. Add to that the usual spam and I’m erasing tons of crap every evening.
Thanks for another always entertaining show.
