  • A good deep look into the financial, physical and worker necessities needed for a successful pipe show. Being involved with the Chicago Show, I was nodding “yes” to everything you said.
Jon David is always a great guest. (Thanks for the shout-out JD about our Chicago show.) I enjoyed JD’s discussion of his Country Squire tobaccos, and his and your ruminations about the STG purchase of Mac Baren.
Johnny and June doing “Jackson” was the perfect song choice.
Good advice for the listeners about tracking guests.
    Thanks for another fun show.

  • Loved this episode!! Your layout of expenses of the Vegas Show was really good. People had to be shocked by how much money you have to lay out for those things. I know people in KC were mad at me for saying we had to get out of the show business. They lost a ton of money that last few years they had it. Finally, a rather shrunken check book got their attention and made them see the light.
Jon David is just a delight to have on your show. I just wish I could make him see his chiding of Mike & Mary’s closing of McClelland as a business thing not a personal thing. Him and the empty suit would carry on about them as if they were the villains of the piece. That nobody does this to their friends. Good grief, companies have to things as they see fit. They were not your friends. They supplied you with product and you paid them. And that’s it. And as far as asking Mike to sell his recipes for his products, that has to be the height of hilarity. I’m still laughing about that one. Mike is taking them to his grave. Go back and look at the forums and see if I wasn’t screaming at people to buy all they could afford to buy of their stuff. The only thing I didn’t do was send him a personal certified letter that they were closing soon.
We will have to watch STG like a hawk. They have a track record, and it isn’t good one.
The “Jackson” is one my favorite Johnny Cash numbers. I don’t know why you kept referring to June Carter “as his then wife”. She was his wife from the time they got married until the time of her unfortunate death. He was at her bedside when she died.
    This was a superb show.
