Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 613

Welcome to The Pipes Magazine Radio Show Episode 613. Our featured interview tonight is with Ezekiel Rogucki. Ezekiel is a 26-year old graphic designer from Ohio and is part of our new series of pipe smokers that are under the age of 30. His partner likes to smoke cigars, but when Ezekiel tried them he felt they were too harsh, and that led him to smoking pipes. He has three pet snakes and says he has “a profound interest in wildlife and the natural world and the sometimes-unnatural world.” At the top of the show, we’ll have an “Ask the Pipemaker” segment with pipe artisan Jeff Gracik.

  • Jeff’s and your suggestions for dealing with “rim char” were simple, direct and helpful solutions for pipe maintenance.
Ezekiel was a pleasant but really young and novice piper, whose journey seems quite basic at this point. I enjoyed the give and take during Ezekiel’s questions for you.
Scott’s choice of “Damme La Manu” by Justin Adams and Mauro Durante was a good one. The music was lovely and ethereal.
Banana Bread Beer? What next, one of your J. Alan lovats stuffed with Sutliff Bananas and Crème?
    Thanks for a fun show.

  • This was a kind of a ho-hum sort of show. One of those you could take or leave depending on how you feel.
You and Jeff’s suggestions were very good for taking care if rim char. Personally, I prefer to take it to George Dibos.
Ezekiel Rogucki was a young gentleman who had a little charm about him. We will have to see how his journey progresses. Right now, he is like new grass to romp in. A young colt, eh, what?? Snakes are not my thing. I stay away from them, and they stay away from me.
    A decent choice of music.
Okay, you were kidding about the beer, right?? Banana Bread Beer sounds pretty atrocious. Good lord man, have you no pride??
