Here are Some pictures of my Pirate Cave, I mean Cellar :D.
I have about 17 pounds. About 25 tins of Escudo, 30 tins of Dunhill Royal Yacht, 10 Tins of Dunhill Night Cap, 10 Tins of Peterson Irish Flack.
My jarred tobacco consists of Mac Baren Dark Twist, MacBaren HH Vintage Syrian, McClelland Personal Reserve Blackwoods Flake,and Peter Stokkebye Luxury Bullseye.
I also have a jar/tin (or 2) of Frog Morton Cellar and On the Bayou, Mac Baren HH Dark Fired, G.L. Pease Bohemian Scandal (2004), and Mac Baren HH Vintage (2006)

I actually have a vacuum sealer for mason jars. I sealed about 8 jars to see what happens.

Below is a closer look at my Pipes. Starting from the left Ser Jacopo with an Albatross Bone Extension, Mario Grandi "Poker", Il Ceppo (Believe it's a bent apple. Not sure), and last is my Ser Jacopo "Bulldog"

Thanks huge cupboards in my laundry room that had a bunch of old paint cans. Finally disposed of them; cleaned out the cupboards and put my stash in their.

I wish I could have all my tobacco in one spot. I have totally run out of room on the first floor of my home. I have it in my closet, under my bed, in my nightstands, in my living room built in unit. Next I will be going upstairs and commandeering space in my sons closet. I wish I had my old cigar cabinet, that could hold a few thousand pounds of tobacco.

Very impressive - nice cellar you've got! I have a poor man's cellar of bulk tobaccos, about 20 lbs worth. Hope to have another 10-20 in a few months and that will probably be the best I can do before the tobaccopalypse happens.

Very well organized. A great cellar. I am organizing mine this weekend - I grabbed a bunch of airtight bins with silicone seals and I'm going to store the square tins in those bins. I have had too many folks who have been through it tell me that those square tins are a real crapshoot for long term storage. I see you have some square tins there and you should think about that issue as well.

How long does a square tin generally keep?

Some will keep forever, but apparently they are really sensitive to temperature and air pressure changes and it's pretty common for some to just pop their seal after a few years of cellaring. I have been told this is much less of an issue with the round tins.

Thank you for the information. I have had the square tins since February. So I will periodically check them until I find a better alternative. I wonder if you could wax seal them?

peck, where are you getting your information? What type of environment are the people saying this in? Are they in the North, South? Do they keep their tins in a basement, closet, I need to know the exact environment they claim will bring harm to the square tins. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around this. These tins are vacuum sealed, how can the seal break if the tins are not moved and if they are in a constant environment? I honestly cannot see how they would fail unless you are talking dramatic swings in temperature.

I believe I read that the square tins are not as durable and if dented one should store the contents in somthing else. Unfortunately I have no references for this.

peck, where are you getting your information? What type of environment are the people saying this in?

Harris, this topic came up some weeks ago by a member who stated that round tins offer a more uniform and reliable seal than square tins. The theory sounds plausible to me - examine the corners of a square tin - there does seem the potential for a miniscule gap to occur.
I don't have many tins, but for ones I want to age, I think I might melt some beeswax on the rims just to be safe.
