I've been contemplating getting myself a corn-cob for Lakelands,

Which MMs have widest bowls? Aside of ultra-tall ones.

I smoke lakelands in a Great Dane Egg. Other than the tall ones, the Dagner Poker, the Great Danes, the Country Gentleman, and the reverse calabash ( if you can find one) should fit the bill.

I was lucky enough to get a Mark Twain with an inordinately large bowl, so you might want to check out one of those. The rest of them that I have purchased were slightly smaller, though. For a guaranteed large bowl, I would either buy a Country Gent or bore a Twain out to 7/8".

I'm still not sure how I feel about bowl size in pipes. For a while I thought wide bowls were what I wanted but with experimentation the only conclusion I can come to is "I have no idea what's best".

Except I do know that Cobs have a very open draft, that's a safe assessment.
Do get a Cob, which one in particular probably isn't a big deal.

My Cobbit Shire is the widest cob in my stable. I'm pretty sure the bowl is the same as the Danish Egg.

The stem on the Shire is vulcanite, which is a nice thing to have.

The Shire I have (cobs vary) has a 13/16" opening, whereas my Gentleman is 3/4". Seems like it's insignificant, but, the wider ones fill easier.

I experimented myself and came to the conclusion that my pipe chamber must be 0.8" at least,

Have not tried bigger bowls yet to know.
