I've been smoking a tin of D&R's London Dock and found that I like it. This version has a nice cherry vanilla flavor IN MY OPINION and I will probably buy more of it.

I checked tobaccoreviews.com and read about the older, discontinued versions but I can't find any real history about London Dock. Who produced it first and when? Who made the version with the Tonquin flavoring? When did it switch from an English Blend to an aromatic?
Inquiring minds... well, at least, I want answers.

I like it too. Bought up 20 tins of it a couple of years ago. I know the D&R has coumarin, but never heard of Tonquin being in it. You may also like C&D's Belmont Station. The earliest iteration I know of is Middleton's and it was a Burley/Virginia/Turkish/Perique with rum.

Milan also has a match blend that is very good.

What impresses me about this tobacco is that the cherry vanilla taste doesn’t burn off after the first few puffs, but lingers throughout the smoke. It’s good stuff.

Lingers in the pipe after the smoke too. I've got a Winslow Crown Dublin that's dedicated to it and will forever smell like it.

I'm actually working on a new post for my blog. I'm glad to see that other pipe smokers like it too.
