Hello all my pipe smokig friends. Can anybody give me a name of a "Good Virginia Flake" (Sweet in Taste) with alittle Perique in it? One that does Not Burn Hot and is an Aromatic to a degree. Thanks!

Hearth & Home Anniversary Kake, available at pipesandcigars.com . I'm in love with it, I find it to be flavorful, mild, and a very flexible smoke.

In fact now that I've done this post I may just have some with my morning coffee. :puffy:

Oh, and welcome to the forums, jp!

Solani 633 is the quintessential Virginia/Perique Flake. It's not

an Aromatic but has a light, sweet topping..., likely a sugar water used

in the manufacture. There are plenty of good Virginia/Perique blends,

but this stuff will ruin you over all of them.

Hello JP and welcome to the forums! Happy to have you here! :puffy:

I can second the motions of all of the above posters. Good choices, all.
I don't know if your emphasis is on "flake" or "Vaper", so I suppose I should take your question literally, i.e. both. But, in addition to the above suggestions, I can't help but recommend two relatives of the flake, pressed cake forms: C&D's Night Train, and H&H's Anniversary Kake. If you're into Vapers, regardless of format, then give 4noggins' Prairie Wind a try.
Lastly, since this is apparently your current area of interest, I would like to direct you to a most interesting evaluation of Vaper blends:

The Virginia/Perique (VaPer) Showdown, by a most astute reviewer named Scott, from Wilmington, NC., who goes by the screen name

"Slow Triathlete". In that link he evaluates about 27 different Vapers, many of which are flakes and broken flakes. I find it most helpful.

Here is what I believe is his list and personal ranking to date:

  • 1) McConnell Scottish Cake

    2) Samuel Gawith’s St. James Flake

    3) GL Pease Tribute

    4) Escudo

    5) GL Pease Filmore

    6) Former’s Straight Grain Flake

    7) H & H AJ’s VaPer

    8 ) Low Country’s Waccamaw

    9) Peretti’s Park Square

    10) John Patton’s Cool Hand Fluke

    11) H & H Rolando’s Own

    12) H & H Anniversary Kake

    13) G & H Louisiana Flake

    14) C & D Poplar Camp

    15) Dunhill Elizabethan Mixture

    16) C & D Night Train

    17) H & H Louisiana Red

    18) C & D Bayou Morning Flake

    19) Reiner’s Long Golden Flake

    20) Treasures of Ireland - Limerick

    21) Dorchester

    22) Solani #633

    23) Luxury Bullseye Flake

    24) McClelland Bulk 2015

    25) GL Pease Telegraph Hill

    26) Kajun Kake

    27) Luxury Navy Flake

    28) Dan Tobacco's Tordenskjold Virginia Slices

Lots of great recommendations here!
I'll second Lawrence on Escudo Navy De Luxe. Nice natural sweet VA taste with the right amount of Perique to make you think, "gee, how did they make such a tasty tobacco?"

P. S. Navy Flake - sweet Virginia , just right amount of Perique. Use the fold and stuff method, rub out a little for the top ( makes it easy to light ) and you will have a slow burning cool smoke with no tongue bite. Room aroma very nice also and goes really well with a nice cup of coffee.
Smoke them today, you never know if you will have a tomorrow.

I would give McClelland's Red Cake 5100 a shot. It's not a flake (obviously) but it does have a nice room note and you can add a touch of perique if you're not afraid of doing a little blending.
