Seeing the sand pits, are you going to sandblast that briar? I bet it would finish with some neat grain pattern. Good luck with the project.

I had seen the imperfs in the briar at start, I just wanted to do a concept pipe-shape tamper with it to see how it would come out/working out process

IMHO it would work better for me if the tamper was a flat, two dimensional piece with just a round dingus on the bottom for tamping.
