One of my European contacts, hunting down some Hilsons for me, sent me a Hilson Oxford with a broken shank. No panic, I did get the other two just fine and he told me in advance the Oxford was broken. He actually threw it in for free. But it is such a gorgeous grain on it, that I may try to see if it's fixable.
Do you guys think it would even be worth it to send it to Tim West to have him try put a ring on it ? It's a square shank, so that would make it pretty difficult I think. Any other ideas from the pipe makers out here ?
I would love the opinions of more experienced guys out here.
Here's some pics (EDIT: Fixed links)
