One of my European contacts, hunting down some Hilsons for me, sent me a Hilson Oxford with a broken shank. No panic, I did get the other two just fine and he told me in advance the Oxford was broken. He actually threw it in for free. But it is such a gorgeous grain on it, that I may try to see if it's fixable.
Do you guys think it would even be worth it to send it to Tim West to have him try put a ring on it ? It's a square shank, so that would make it pretty difficult I think. Any other ideas from the pipe makers out here ?
I would love the opinions of more experienced guys out here.
Here's some pics (EDIT: Fixed links)

The pic doesn't show much in the way of what's left that a tennon could go into.

 extend the pipe with a spacer it would look like a thick band in the middle. It doesn't look like it broke where the markings are .

I shot a note and the pics to Tim West to get his opinion at least. If he thinks we can do something with it, I'll ship it over and let him go to town on it. We'll see :-(
