I just ran across a Chacom pipe marked with my birth year and ####/#### (#=not sure of the numbers right now) in fair condition for $35. What do you all think of them? Any experiences with their year pipes? Finally, is it worth jumping on or should I let this one pass. I can probably wrangle $35 fairly easily but I don't want to waste my PAD money right now on crap.
Thanks,

Sou

Oh yeah, forgot to say it has "Hand Cut" on the stem as well as a white band between the stem and stummel.

Bump. Anybody got any info on these? After much thought I decided to get it and I want to know if I got a good pipe. Pics to come later.

Here's a pic. I'm surprised nobody knows about them. It's a 1980 numbered 1114/1245. It's a big pipe, about 7" long tip to tip.

You need not worry about it being crap. Chacom have a decent reputation, so if you like the shape and the condition the pipe is in, I'd say go for it. I happen to have a Chacom POY 95 which is rather similar in shape:
