Has anyone tried slightly boiling a Ball jar of Virginia’s and then cooling it to create a negative pressure ? Much like a positive pressure in a tin helping it expand and causing fermentation ??? Maybe I’m wrong and boiling / cooling creates a positive pressure ? Still the theory remains the same I presume ?

If I'm cellaring some tobacco for the long term, I wrap a wet paper towel around an empty glass jar, microwave for 30-45 seconds, then quickly fill the jar with tobacco, and putting on the lid. This should create a slight vacuum in the jar. Make sure to dry the jar before adding the tobacco (the inside should already be completely dry).
