I'm having a problem while trying to find information on the web regarding my pipe.

When I try to run a search about a specific model I can't seem to find any match. And I have this problem with most of my pipes

For example have a Vauen luxus 035, but when I do a search for this model I can't find a luxus 035.

Or if I try to find anything about my Hilson 135 D, again I can't find a match.

And neither for my Savinalli Oscar aged briar 614 standard, or my Stanwell Prestige 126.

Not even on their home pages.

So, what is the problem: are all my pipes so low grade that they are not mentioned? Am I doing the search wrong? Is there something im missing in understanding the way pipe marks are read?

Can you please tell me how to search and find material about my pipes.

Thanks.

I think that most pipe manufacturers just don't do a whole lot of extensive record-keeping regarding the types of details we are interested in. Collector forums for specific pipe brands may be a good way to go. Pipedia can only take you just so far, unfortunately.

Aldecaker's suggestion is good. If I am trying to find information on a discontinued pipe I email the manufacturer with questions. Most keep extensive records, they just do not make their archives available to the public.

papajoe, welcome to the club of pipe owners who are mystified by at least some of their briars (and other pipes too). If anyone can help, it may be some of the pipe scholars here on Forums, some of whom seem to be sorcerers of pipe history and information. I keep mentioning the potential usefulness for better stamping on pipes, to give at least the nation of origin (and city if possible), year of manufacture, as well as shape code and style name. That's not too much if stated succinctly. It would help with some of these pipe identity questions, for starters at least.

@dmcmtk: The Stanwell page was helpful. The other two I already know but there isn’t much help to be found in them for me.

@all others: well at least I'm not alone. :D
