Having read Kevin's review of Orlik Golden Sliced,it seemed so good that I thought I would give it a go,it would be the first time I have gone for pure virginias as up to now I have always favoured Latakia blends.OGS is terrific and from now on there will be a tin ( round here in UK )by my chair. My McConnells Scottish Mxt.is like and old camp fire whereas OGS is like a field in summertime. The other first is to do with loading with flake,I usually rub it in my hand then loaded up but after seeing fold and load way on here I tried it,it works for me.Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks,I am now folding and loading. Thanks guys. Tom

OGS is one of those blends that everyone should try. I have a hard time believing theres anyone who doesn't like it!
Believe it. I'm a few flakes into a 50g tin, and for the life of me, I can't enjoy this tobacco. I really want to - and I should, I love the constituent ingredients - but it just doesn't agree with me, no matter which pipe I pull off the rack. I think the issue is the Virginia tobacco Orlik uses is similar to what the blenders at DuMaurier use for their 100% Va cigarettes; I find the OGS too similar in taste (and aftertaste) to an unfiltered cig, something I am trying like mad to avoid. I notice this with some other very Va forward blends too, not just OGS. I'm hoping a couple of years in the cellar will change my mind on this tobacco...

Schmitz, there is obviously something wrong with your pipes.

Send them to me, along with a small fee, and I will inspect them for you.

Please include a few packs of DuMaurier for comparison.

Lonestar, I will get *right* on that...of course, if I send you all my pipes, I will have nothing to smoke whilst they are being inspected. Therefore, it would only make sense for you to send me replacements. I will await the arrival of this set before I send the package out.

Schmitz, Cortez has sidelined this project temporarily.

After I have made it through his list, we will resume negotiations.

In the meantime, it may be best to just inspect the questionable tin of Orlik.

I'll mail you a list with my fees, and you can just put a check in with the tin, and overnight it to me.

I'll have your answer in 5-7 weeks, but I can get back with you sooner for an additional fee.
