Hi. I am quite new to pipes, ordered a Peterson Aran 68, based on shape. Gorgeous looking pipe... However, when I try to clean it, trying to insert the pipe cleaner through the stem, it cannot find its way through the bowl. When I remove the stem, it seems to be the alignment of the drilled hole that is kind of in the upper part of teh bowl. I guess this is dictated by the geometry of the pipe. is mine a lemon or is it 'normal' to be like this? If normal, how do I clean it though without having to remove the stem, which I heard you should not do it too often... Thank you, Alex A. London, Ontario

Most bent pipes require the stem to be removed in order to clean it. Very few bents, especially factory made, can pass a pipe cleaner without removing the stem.
