I find this older short film from the '70s is really intriguing. I thought some of you here might find it interesting, as well. Make sure to turn on the English subtitles (click YouTube-button to open the video in a larger player, then click "CC" button ).

Thanks for sharing!

Always fascinating to see true craftsmen at work. That flooring system impressed me, with the provision to tighten it up as it dries and shrinks. The level of finish is quite amazing too-- with the finisher going 'round and smoothing all the logs afterwards-- true pride there...

Thanks for posting. I enjoyed watching it and I love to see how things like this were done. Excellent craftsmanship from the carpenters!

If I were as accurate with my power tools as those craftsmen are with their hand tools I might still have all my fingers.
The video is visually addictive, like watching goldfish or something.

Thank you for sharing Jarit.

Well I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I'm not sure if we could find four craftsmen like that in the whole country today.
Incidentally, the word in Finnish for a carpenter is "kirvesmies", which translates to as "ax man".
Thanks again for watching!
