What is your top ten tobacco brands (only...no specific blends) based solely on quality and taste. Need to have smoked 5 or more of the brand's blends...

This is my top 11. Out of the 28 blends in my cellar, all but 4 are in this list. 7 of my top 11 have multiple blends represented.

Mike, Old Ironsides I believe has the highest content of Latakia on the market. I believe I read somewhere that it contains 40%. I remember trying it back when I smoked English blends and could not handle it, way too smokey for me. That blend is for big time lat lovers.

Harris, it is definitely a lat lovers dream tobacco. Years ago me and one of my pipe smoking buddies at the B&M we worked at, used to plow through tins of this stuff. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find it anywhere. I don't know if they stopped making it or just isn't a big seller here in the states?
I do think that C&D may actually top the latakia content with da Vinci. That stuff is labled as being 75% latakia. I have no clue what the other 25% actually tastes like :)

The problem is when you add the "must have smoked at least 5 blends from that brand". But let's throw some out, in no particular order. If the blends are high quality, I will list the manufacturer, even if I don't smoke that many of their blends.

MacBaren

Samuel Gawith

Rattray

Dunhill - With the caveat that I smoked most of their blends when Murray's made them.

Not in my top ten because I've only tried one blend, but when in NYC, you'll find something

you like, with consultation with staff, at Nat Sherman's. Their blends are top notch.
