just wondering do you flip your pipe cleaner ie use both ends or not
I guess I'm a flipper. And just for good measure I bend it in two and swab the bowl.
Of course. I flip the pipe, too.
I follow Fr. Tim's practice.
I'm also in the good Father's congregation.
I'm with fr.tim to..
Bless you, my sons.
well i flip also on the first cleaner but then i use a second cleaner and only use one end and that is the one i normaly bend in half for the bowl if i dont use my finger

one cleaner both ends on the draft and shank. one cleaner one end thru the stem. other end of cleaner to swab out bowl.
Flip and twist just like the Father.
I will pray for the unbelievers. To flip and twist is the way of true holiness.
I'm in frtimmyd's congregation as well...

I confess frtimmyd, I flip & twist too.
I'm a flip & twist guy too.
I must confess that I was going to be a wiseacre and post a Flipper sound when I came across the following.
I'm not hijacking, just letting you guys see something cool.
I'd be good if I could do this with smoke.

Well, I guess I am the poor guy in this group--or maybe the most frugal. I find that the first 3/4" on each end picks up the heavy gunk. So, when used, I clip them off with wire cutters and use each end again. Then fold and swab out the bowl. Then reverse the fold and swab out again with the clean side. Throwing away a pipe cleaner that is only partially used is like knocking out a bowl only half smoked and see that little mound of good tobacco destined to be thrown away.
I do the flip and twist, and then I finish off with a Q-Tip. One end swabs the shank and the other for the inside of the stem where the filter goes.
I do as Sundowner........ I'm a flipper and a clipper. I as well clip off the ends after running them thru the first time on each end. I just clip them thill they are too short too use anymore.

yes sir mate. flip, flop and bend
Hi , My name is JD and I am a Flipper . They say that the first step to recovery is to admit you have a Flipping problem.. or in my case a flipping problem and am too darn cheap to only use 1 end...
Just like the Good Father'
didnt i read some where onsite that some one saves em and washes them in the washing machine in a pillow case
and you clippers that is streching you dollar
I am a flipper and a clipper, I've found the shorter ones are good for stems and shanks....got toe nail clippers everywhere I have pipes and cleaners....
Seldom. I usually feed the cleaner in through the button, and pull it through the bowl with a needlenose pliers. Sorry guys, I only go one way.
Flip and twist...I'm with you Father!
Flipper twister.
I'm a flipper
Interesting, I never thought of clipping them. I may have to start doing that. I'm not cheap, just too lazy to go down to the B&M to buy more. Well, that and I guess I'm a little cheap.
I not only flip like the good father i cut my used churchwarder ones in half to get 2 new ends for my regular pipes
Yeah even know there cheap I use the hell out of those things my only problem is he stink that sets into your hands from the pipe crap that wont wash off. I guess its just calateral damage for such a great hobby
I follow Fr. Tim's practice.
DITTO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh, yeah, that is the downside, you knew there was a downside...
The drawer where I keep my new and used cleaners, at my kitchen area desk smells pretty rough when I open it. Got to remember NOT to do that when the wife is in the kitchen....

+1

With all this flipping and twisting we may have to make Chubby Checker the patron saint of pipe cleaners.
I flip, clip, twist, bend and swab. Sounds like some sort of weird yoga workout
I detach the bit and run a pipe cleaner through it first, I go in through the tenon then when it's coming out the button I grab it and pull it side to side, then flip it and do the shank.
Then I take another pipe cleaner and double it to scrub the inside of the shank better, then swab the bottom of the bowl.
This sounds wasteful, but I buy the bristle pipe cleaners by the box to save money.
I just bought a box of 48 bundles of 44 Zen cleaners from Amazon for $35 delivered.
I'll probably sell half of the box on eBay a few bundles at a time so the other 24 bundles are free.
The bundles retail for $2.95 so buying them in bulk makes each bundle only cost 73 cents.
That makes them only 1.65 cents each.
Flip, twist and bend. Mostly because I hate to be wasteful and try to recycle everything I can.
I cut them in half so I get 4 x ends to flip.
I use the end of my cat's tail to clean out my pipes.
I guess I'm a flipper. And just for good measure I bend it in two and swab the bowl
me too
Is it unanimous? We're all flippers?
Flip, clip, flip again and clip again. Use a paper towel twisted into a tight roll to "screw" into the bowl as the bent clip does not get as much moisture.
Flip it...Flip it good!
When I'm done with pipe cleaners I bend it into a circle and roll it for my cat to play with. She plays with dirty cleaners never with clean ones.
Flip it, bend it in half and clean the bowl or even the shank depending how much cleaning it needs. I feel better when I use the entire pipe cleaner.
I follow Mr. Tim's practice.
Yup, me too
I am with the Father. Flip and twist.
