So this is a pipe I have been keeping an eye out for as an estate. Finally found one.

I see there are some other night owls still awake. I have a few silver caps but this is a 1st. Been looking out for a few yrs now off and on. And on a shape I really like. Only way it's better is on a Canadian....but really a toss up for me.

Is there a latch on the cap? I've never seen one in person. Is the cap just to protect your smouldering when its windy?
Yeah, the cap latches down, it's to provide wind resistance.
Nice looking pipe.
I have 3. 2 are 106 billiards and 1 is a bent 69 shape. I love all of them, and they all smoke great. I really am trying to find one in a 408, which is Peterson's take on the author shape.

I have that pipe without the windcap, with a fishtail bit, in the Around-the-World series honoring Ireland with an Irish cross on the band, and even without the windcap, it's a winner. You'll like your new pipe, and you're ready for those springtime gales.

What a great pipe!

Got to put this on my own bucket list... near the top.

Congrats on the find!
