You know this bowl. This is the one you light an hour before dusk; when the wind dies, and the cricket (or frog, or bird) chorus starts, with the long, long rays of sun reaching out to offer slight warmth.
Today was one of those days. The kind of day that you wake up just knowing that it is going to involve a meaningful discussion, hard words, shared angst and the opportunity for resolution, reconnecting, and new commitment. But it's gonna be ugly before it gets better. Today was one of those days.
But it ended with a long post dinner walk together with our mediator (our 3 year old flat coat retriever), and finally a cup of tea on our balcony watching as the neighbourhood got ready for bed. Together, with a renewed sense of each other, and grounding. Tough times are tough, so that the rest of the time can be good.
A pipe with the love of my life was a really nice way to come back to earth.
