Mostly, the sagging Euro isn't good for the U.S., for exports and other reasons. But since it

is the current situation, is there any advantage in pipe or tobacco prices in having the Euro

lower relative to the dollar in value at the present time? It's not the British Pound Sterling, so we're

not talking Dunhill's ordered from London. How about pipes ordered from the European Union?

You just hit on one of the advantages of a strong US dollar. The question is, will the European shops alter the price in dollars to offset the euro? Maybe not, so there should be lower US $ costs for goods that are "euro only" priced.

On the other side of the coin, US companies with Euro Zone subsidiaries will see lower earnings when reporting quarterly results. It's the ebb and flow of international economics.

I just took a cursory glance at a couple of Italian pipes at Al Pascia, and the quoted USD price does seem to be lower.

It's worth keeping track of, that's for sure.
