I have had these 2 cut pieces of cedar laying around and finally figured to use them for something.

All I did was cut them down into 2 equal sizes, sand, and add a couple coats of linseed oil.

Those are my handmade Tampers as well, I still have a few pieces of deer antler that I am trying to make into a pipe rest too.

Hey Gunz looks good. Is that eastern red cedar or western cedar? I'm thinking that kind of slab would make a straight pipe, rack too. I have a couple 6' bigger logs of eastern red.

Those are cool ! I made a similar tamper rack out of a chunk of Mulberry a while back.

Those look great! I've been on the same page about making holders for my tampers but I went the 'individual' route.

I like the idea of group storage better.

Really cool tampers, mirain! I like the idea of a group holder, it is massive and likely will not get knocked over easily.

I have been thinking in terms of something like a pipe rack, with the idea of displaying a collection from the wall.

Nice tamper stand. I am sure like many, I have a few of mine in empty ashtrays on display. However the one Cosmic made for me goes everywhere. I wanted it protected, but not hard to access.

dulgunz: The multiple holder is beautiful--how can a big slab of wood not be?--but the individual ones are more practical for me.
mirain: Those individual holders are great. Consider the idea shamelessly stolen. Gives me another excuse to use that new lathe chuck I got for Christmas.
