Syrian Latakia info

I am interested to know more about the history of Syrian Latakia and particularly of the last batch remained available from the stock of 70' and 80' (I think only McClelland and McBaren has still in stock this as of now extinct tobacco). I think there is somewhere in the internet a video with the history of this last batch of Latakia but I did not find it.

Anyone has a link to this supposed video about the history of this last batch of Latakia?

Syrian latakia is the original, I know that. Know nothing about a video.

Andy, I don't believe the Solani "Syrian", is actually true "Syrian". I believe it to be a doctored up imposter called by the same name.

It must just be the limited availability that makes this one attractive. I've had several blends that have it, and I don't understand the fascination. Give me Cyprian any day with it's incense-like fragrances and evolving and changing flavors as the bowl progresses.
