New Years Day, I spent hours in the local AFC clinic with hundreds of local with the flu to get my RX of cough meds and theraflu. And, since I have been condemned to the bed with over 100F fever by my wife. I had joined a gym a few days earlier, and the trainer had led me through a very light work out. So when I woke up on the 1st, and couldn't even pick up my toothbrush, I thought that maybe I had just gotten so old that the light workout had kicked my whole body's butt. But,.. flu.
Apparently, it is an epidemic level flu outbreak here. And, I can't smoke. Heck, I can't even eat. I'm not sure what areas are having this flu outbreak, but Lysol everything and maybe avoid shaking hands. This is the first year I have skipped my flu shot, so go get one boys. It is at least putting the odds in your favor, because you do not want to get this crap. It gets you so bad that you start thinking you're gonna die. The pneumonia I had last wasn't even this bad.
So, drink your orange juice and get your shots, whatever it takes to avoid this mess. Stay healthy out there. Hopefully, by this weekend I will be able to get back to work in the studio and smoke my pipe again. Till then, I am still condemned to my room with Turners Classic Movies and Gatorade.

Here
Last year's flu knocked my wife and myself simultaneously flat on our butts for 3 weeks.
This year, I was knocking babies and elderly outta the way to get my shot.
Three weeks in bed miserable is 6% of your year shot.

I was sick with a virus most of November and the first week or so of December. Now, m'lady and I both have a stomach virus, and we are fairly knocked flat on our backs. Yuck!

I hope you recover quickly. We depend on your sage posts. :puffy:

The last time I had the flu was when I was only 25 yrs. old, and it kicked my butt back then!

I can't imagine contracting it at 70!

Get a flu shot indeed. I never used to bother with them until I was hit with the flu some years back. Knocked me over and confined to a couch for 10 days. Never missed a shot since and have had no flu since then.
