This is my smoking tray.
I'm not a neat freak, it just makes things easier when I'm smoking at home. As I live in an apartment, I smoke on the balcony and I bring it with me everytime.
You guys ever use something like that?

That's a pretty solid idea. I live in an apartment as well and between always forgetting my tamper, or a lighter, or a pipe cleaner, I make about 3 trips to the veranda before I'm finally settled. I'm definitely appropriating this idea!

That's a great idea and a nice looking tray too.

I am able to smoke in the house in my cozy chair in the winter but in the summer and nice weather I'm out on the back patio by the pond so a tray like tat would be handy for me.

Love the idea, brpipesmoker. In particular I think it would work really well for packing a bowl especially with the catch for any loose tobacco.
drezz, not to take anything away from this idea, if you have a need for a bit more portability you may want to check this thread http://pipesmagazine.com/forums/topic/maxpedition-fatty-pack-great-pipe-bag. I have to walk to get to a designated smoking area and Maxpedition "Fatty" works extremely well.

Thaks guys, it's really proven useful to me.
This I got at a local shop here, I bought some Cuesta Rey cigars and it came with them. It is actually called the Cuesta Rey Valet. I don't know if it's still available.
But before I had it I used those office drawer organizers as my smoking tray, they got the job done though I find this valet classier.
trailboss, that's a great looking tray you've got there!
drezz01, I used to be like you... always forgetting something.., lol
framitz, that'll certainly help you a lot!
pipebaum, it helps a lot when packing, exactly as you mentioned.

I once used a similar tray but as I live alone, I converted my tray to an ottoman/pipe/storage table so that I needent do anything except sit down

pipebaum81 That's a pretty handy looking bag! Would have been nice to have on my trip to Mexico, or any upcoming trips as well!
I like the idea of the tray just for getting from my cellar (read: crate in my bedroom) to my veranda for a smoke. If everything has it's place in the tray I'll be slightly less likely to be making 5 trips.

Since the weather in Colorado is highly variable, my smoking time is split between my back porch and the local B&M, so I too use a Maxpedition Fatty solution - but I do like the idea of the valet tray.

I'm new to pipes and have now gotten to the point where organizing my stuff has got my attention. I've got a compartmented tray I found discarded at work that holds my lighters, pipe cleaners, tampers, and a Sharpie pen for labeling the top of my Mason jars. I've got a pouch on the way, and that may fit here, also. Two packs of pipe cleaners are in a couple of perfectly sized, long and flat, flip-top metal containers that I also found, long before I had thought of how I might use them. I don't know what they originally held - maybe a high-end pen or laboratory tool. I like the idea of a tray for pipe loading. My table beside my chair has tobacco bits sprinkled on it. Having a tray, I could contain that. I've also reached the point where I want a pipe rack and some type of stand to set the lit pipe upon when I need or want to not hold the pipe. This is all part of the pleasure of pipe smoking. Ah, too, there's the Mason jar and tobacco tin storage something or other to find. Virtually none of this occurred to me when I bought that first pipe.
