I'll start this one off with my new Aldo Velani "111", only two bowls in this one so far, but it's smoking very well!

First I have a kind of squat bulldog I bought in the early 90's at Ye Olde Pipe Shop in New Orleans, stamped Jansen's N.O.

Second pipe is an old unsmoked bulldog I got from an estate sale about 5 years ago, stamped Mansfield, made in England.

Here's my Nording "Eriksen", this was my first bulldog as well as my first straight pipe. It's an excellent smoker!
Nice pipes guys! Agnostic, I especially like that Jansen!

All great looking pipes guys! Nice to see some classy looking bulldogs.

petes03, yeah, I don't know what to think about the Jansen. I talked to an old man in the store, (Mr. Jansen?) and he told me they made these pipes right there. He showed me a work bench in back where they made the pipes. There is no other stamping on the pipe, but I read some time ago that GBD actually made the store brand pipes for them. I don't know what to think, but it does have a nice tight grain, and smokes great too, even if it is a plain jane pipe.

Just going to re-use Smokeybear's pic from the For Sale thread I picked this up from. My crappy phone cam does this pipe zero justice, so.. Cheating.

Here's my English bulldogs. I've still got a lot of work to do on the BBB but it's in great shape internally so that shouldn't be too hard.
Top: BBB Own Make with a factory sterling silver band

Middle: 1909 L&CO (Loewe)

Bottom: Barling's Make (Can't tell if the stem's a replacement on this one...almost looks like it but there's a lot that's right about it too like the button shape. Either way, it's another white whale in the rotation.)

captain, nice collection of older dogs. Is the stem on the BBB original? And is that diamond thing part of a logo or just a design (mother of pearl?). I think the Loewe is the star of that group. Very nice.

Thanks. The stem is original and has a badly oxidized/pitted metal stem logo. Can't find a replacement badge/pin for it so I'm just leaving it for "character".
Agreed on the Loewe, I just can't wait to get to a place where I can smoke it inside. Really want to smoke it but I'm too nervous to smoke it here since the wind hasn't gone under 15 MPH in over a week.
Love that pair you've got there too. While I love bulldogs, that billiard is a work of art.

I don't have a camera. But I have a "Last of Falling Arches" pipe. It is stamped L.O.F.A.. It smokes great. Got it from U.K. for less than $10 on Ebay.

I'm with you on that. I'm always careful about the weather when taking my older pipes outside.

Some lovely pipes there. My only bulldog is in my gallery. Have never had any luck posting pics on this site, so please go to my page. A good bulldog has something no other pipe has, but they are difficult to get right, which is I think why we see so few in many members' collections.
