I have an older Nording freehand from the late 1990s that tastes absolutely horrible after about 5-10 minutes, overtones of burning rubber ruin whatever blend is put in the pipe. I have deduced that it's the stem, and have tried in vain to remove oxidation from the stem but can't get the taste out.
Seeing that all these freehands appear to have the same "half way pushed in" stem (per recent post I saw), I am hoping that there may be a source for a standard replacement stem, preferably one made of lucite or acrylic. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
