There seems to be enough interest in Savinelli to warrant a thread. Lets see some pics.

This came in today and already one of my favorites

    Punto Oro 2007

Here is my Savinelli 401 Smooth Churchwarden:

It's a decent smoker, but it gurgles a little and it MUST be held due to the length.

This is a Savinelli Punto Oro 320 KS, probably my favorite Sav shape. I love the lines and the feel of it in the hand. Plus, it smokes like a dream.

I got it, unsmoked, about a year ago from Erinmore on eBay. He said it dated from the '70's and after finding out they haven't made Punto's in the light amber stain for a long time, and judging by the tremendous amount of oxidation on the stem when I got it, I believe him.

I've noticed you can get Punto Oro's on eBay for pretty cheap considering they are only just under the Giubileo D'Oro line.

My one and likely only. Gandalf semi-churchwarden. It's a pretty good smoker but not up there on my list of "most liked pipes"..

Thanks wolfscout, I think they have one at pipesandcigars, it's the last one if it's still there and I think it's $106?

Also, here's my new pick up.

It's a Savinelli Champagne EX. It is another octagon shape - my favorite shape I suppose! LOL.

I really like Savinelli Pipes. At my first pipe show, I met an older fellow who saw that I was overwhelmed by all the pipes being displayed. I kept looking at an estate Savanelli and he told me that " you can never go wrong with a Savanelli". I bought the pipe, and he was so very right. All the Savanelli pipes I have ever owned were all great smokers. I now have six that I am going to keep.

I have two Savs: 1. A Venezia just like the one pictured above and 2. A standing rusticated sitting pipe that is my favorite and all-around best smoker.

I am considering purchasing one of the Bing styles like the one pictured above as well or maybe a Churchwarden.

Hmmmmmmmm so many choices and possibilities.........
