Guys, I've just spent the last half hour searching for PA in pouches from outfits that will ship to Oz. Will someone assist me please.
The 12oz tin is to big to get through Customs these days, hence my search for a retailer who ships PA to Oz. I would be grateful.

Very kind "skipper", I've got Rich's number. I was hoping to secure it in pouches rather than bulk. However, would there be a great deal of difference between the bulk and pouches?

If properly stored by the supplier, there shouldn't be much difference if any.

I do not know, but there seems to me to be some difference between the tub and the pouch, with the pouch being preferable.

Actually, the Prince Albert tub is 14 ounces. And what's up with Australian customs? Do they open and search each and every package? :roll:
I agree with chasingmembers. 4noggins is the way to go. Great customer service.

Could it be that the pouches are less airtight than the tubs- hence better tasting? I do know that since I opened my tub of PA a month ago, the flavor has improved a lot.

Could be, although the cut seemed bigger as well. Ideally, I'd like to compare them side-by-side, but Prince Albert does not last long around here.

Confirmed, with a fresh pouch of Prince Albert bought today:
* The cut is larger

* There is less alcohol in the topping

* There also seems to be less sugar
This stuff looks like they run it through the equivalent of a shredder rather than a cutter, perhaps while dry, and then rehydrate and flavor. The theory that the pouch allows some of the topping to evaporate could be sound, since although it was in a box which was sealed with cellophane, the pouch was not sealed; however, there was no scent of the topping upon removing it from the box. This version burns cooler and tastes better, so if you do get it in a tub, consider opening it and allowing it to "breathe" for a week.
