I plan on marking this very cool day with a bottle of MacMillan, inaugural smoke of my Kent Rasmussen pipe with a 2001 tin of Escudo. A good way to mark a very cool day/time.

I will definitely be celebrating. The stars rarely line up so perfectly. I remember one pi day a few years ago I had my students take pi to the 100th decimal place and then each of them was assigned one of the numbers and we put them on the front fence of the school along a major thoroughfare. It was impressive seeing those numbers stretch for a couple of hundred yards.

The neighbors and students loved it. The custodians had a problem the next day when a strong wind sent at least half of those 101 banner pieces blowing everywhere. Of course I celebrate anything. Like last month on the 13th (12-13-14). Then there was 12th night. BTW no known tobacco goes well with kingcake.

If your 2001 Escudo is as good as the 2004 Escudo I'm currently smoking is, you'll have a fine day.
I'll tell you what I've told students in the past: if you're going to use an archaism like 'cometh,' make sure to spell it right.

Better buy a lotto ticket. A convergence like that just might do it.
Brad, you didn't believe them so clearly the diagnosis didn't take.

Sadly, I think many cave and do as they're told they will. We're

not immortal, but don't always need to depart on cue.

@booker: Normally if you just post the link in the text window without using any of the "tools" (such as for posting images, etc.) it will automatically embed the video.
Nice Kate Bush tune Ed...I hadn't heard that before. I needed something to get that other Pi jingle out of my head.

Ed they have created Blasphemy, they put Boudin in a King Cake
They started by filling them in the first place. They turned them into giant doughnuts with cream, jelly, praline fillings. Now that they have bacon doughnuts it was only a matter of time before boudin crept in. That guy is making a killing on those things too. There's no accounting for taste.

Yup, I write everything Year/Month/Day, no room for confusion.

I'm hoping for some sales on Feb 20, so that's the next most important day on my calendar.

(and I use full 24 hour time, 09:26.53 doesn't fit anyway)

I do have Pi memorized to the 50th digit though, so it certainly is my favorite number.

Apparently after the 12th digit you'll be able to calculate a circle the size of the galaxy to within an inch.
