So I sold some old gaming consoles I used to play and with the money I asked myself "Why not buy a new pipe?" Well I ordered a Bjarne Viking pipe because 1.) I have heard great things about them and 2.) because that's really all my pipe budget could handle for the time being. I plan on dedicating it to English blends.

I've got a similar one... great smoker. You should be really happy with it. Grats on the addition to your family.

I also like the look of those, bjarne makes nice pipes can't go wrong there

I know what I need, smoke, I can't recall the last time I tasted it....Gandalf in the mines of Moria.

"we shall have to share pipes, as good friends must at a pinch'....'I keep a treasure or two near my skin, as precious as rings to me. Here's one: my old wooden pipe. And here's another an unused one...He held up a small pipe with a wide flattened bowl, and handed it to Gimli. 'Does that settle the score between us', said Merry. 'Most noble hobbit, it leaves me deep in your debt."

My first pipe is a Bjarne Viking Classic. I've only just realized that it doesn't pass a pipe cleaner reliably (mine's a bent sitter, too), and the aros that I smoke in it make me drool a lot, so it gurgles on occasion - but it fits nicely in my hand, clenches nicely in my teeth, and I like it!

Congrats on yours, punkrockarmy! May it bring you as much joy as mine has brought me.

    Congrats, punkrock!

Lots of love for the Bjarne Viking Classics for sure and they're a good value as well.

One caution, though. I suggest you carefully examine your new Bjarne Viking prior to smoking your new pipe, as I've heard that a few folks have had issues with the drilling (the air hole should be at the bottom of the bowl and centered) and I'd check to make sure the ferrule/tenon/mortise are installed properly and secure.

Issues are rare, but it is a machine made pipe and this can happen.

Enjoy and let us know how she smokes!

Very nice looking pipe, congrats on your purchase. I would heed roth's advice and go over the pipe carefully like he suggests.

I love the style of that pipe and most of the Bjarnes. I always have to make this draft hole larger on any that I have had, makes them smoke better. And stops the gurggle too!
