NYC Trip/Pipe Club Meeting - Dec. 2015

I had a great time this evening at the NYC Pipe club meeting - thanks for the hospitality and friendship!
I made the most of my rare trip into the city, now I'm exhausted! Temps were in the high 40's, so it was a nice night to walk around both ends of Manhattan
I realized driving up to the city that it was the anniversary of John Lennons death. So, I took the trek up to Strawberry Fields in Central Park. A hundred or so folks had gathered and were holding a vigil, singing Beatles/Lennon songs, with more streaming in as I left. The Dakota, across the street was blocked off. I got off at the wrong subway stop, about 30 blocks below the Park, so I walked.

I always pick up a Macy year, Christmas ornament for the wife. It felt like I was carrying an egg, but this survived Times Square, two subway rides and a NJ transit bus trip back to NJ. The Christmas shop is 9 floors up at Macy's. Its interesting that the escalators getting more rickety, wooden and skinny the father up you go. It was mad house in Macy's and I was glad to exit.

@Dave - if you decide to go, let me know, I can even pick up up outside the city and drive in if that is convenient.

Sure Dave, just let know. I usually ride the bus into the Port Authority, but that is right up from Grand Central station. (the Port Authority is an empty maze at 10 PM,fortunately this time I knew my departure gate)
