That would be nickel brass. Get a polishing cloth made for jewelry, and just give it a couple of twists with it every now and then. That should keep it shiny. Avoid all of those chemical polishes, even for jewelry avoid them. They work by dissolving a layer of metal, which is not a good way to make things lasts.
