Hi all
I was browsing through the website of my usual provider of all things smoky when I discovered they had a Peterson Maigret in stock. I phoned them up and ordered it - it came yesterday. I was especially pleased as this pipe was apparently made almost exclusively for the Italian market and are as rare as hen's teeth in the UK. As soon as I placed the order the website changed to 'out of stock' so they may only have had one or two of them to begin with.
It's the Pete shape 107 which is rather a chunky billiard - quite a lot more substantial all round than my usual 105 shape. Here's a pic:
It has a silver band engraved with the word 'Maigret'. I christened it last night with some Robert Lewis Orcilla Mixture. It was a nice smoke and I am going to enjoy this pipe. As it is so chunky it is not really a clencher, but for sitting with a drink and the TV it is just right.
