Thanks to Harris' advice (Cigarmaster), he introduced me to a newer (at least for me) aritsan, Nate King. This pipe became available on Ebay and was really never smoked. It is called a Bent Apple and I'm smoking it with Captstan Blue.
The balance is terrific, the stem work sublime. The weight is about 1.2 oz and it feels just wonderful to clench. Pipe cleaner goes straight through.
From my slightly experienced opinion, this is going to be one terrific smoker in my collection.

Thanks, gentlemen
It fits beautifully in my hand, and even with the bowl coating, (the pipe was sold as 'used' but clearly never smoked) it makes the Capstan taste very fine.

I am always on the lookout for bent or slightly bent pipes by American artisans. This one is bulky on the outside, but very light and so far, a pleasure to smoke, even with the bowl coating inside.
I think a good investment.

I met and chatted with Nate at the Richmond show and had an opportunity to examine his pipes. I was impressed with Nate personally, and his work. He is mostly know for his steam-punk style pipes but his blasts and stem work is definitely first rate. Brian interviewed him on the radio show a few months ago, it was a very interesting interview.

Again, beautiful pipe. I just noticed, is it a sitter? If so, it would make a great desk or deck pipe.

I have three of Nates pipes, all of which are outstanding smokers. I actually commissioned one of them and he was quite easy to work with to get just the pipe I wanted.

Yowser! That is a pretty pipe Allan. I absolutely love that blast and the stain is perfect. Just gorgeous. Should I send you my shipping address?

That looks like a very comfortable pipe. I love the grain and the slight bend on the stem. Now there is another artisan that I must follow

Well Peck, from a man that has more pipes and stored tobacco than anyone else in the known universe, I'd say that is a compliment!
Hey, when I see you in Chicago, maybe we can swap for one of your JT Cookes? LOL

Beautiful pipe,

congrats!
I have a feeling that Nate King pays much attention to small details.
And, that button looks most excellent.
Let us know how she smokes!

That is a sweet pipe!
Nate King is a nice fellow, very humble. Got to meet him at Premal's show last year and picked up a small pot from him. Great work ethic and attention to details. You will definitely be pleased with it.
