I fell in love with Rad Davis's work back in August so I asked him to make me a sandblasted Dublin in black with a cumberland stem. It is now complete and he is shipping it tomorrow. I asked him to make it a group 5 and the dimensions came in perfect. It is 6" long with the bowl height at 2", chamber depth is 1 3/4" and a chamber w width of 13/16 ", the weight came in at only 50 grams which is awesome for the thickness of the walls that it has. I love the way the blast came out and I could not be happier with the results. I will be dedicating it to Virginia Flakes. Here are the pictures he sent me.

That is very nice! Did you have any specific details about shape or anything when you had it commissioned?

Great blast! But that's kind of redundant when you say "Rad Davis", I know.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the nice comments and well wishes.
Adam when I first contacted him I told him I wanted a dublin that was black with cumberland stem. I asked for certain dimensions and a weight limit. He explained that it is hard to know what a weight will be while working on it, and that the exact measurements are also up to the briar and where it takes him. He did an unbelievable job in getting my exact measurements and under my weight preference limit.

Man Cigrmaster, That is Saweet:) Those thick walls should make for a cool smoker. I request a thread that shows your entire collection Harris. I can't imagine how vast and awesome your collection must be!!!!

That's really awesome that you got exactly what you asked for (more or less)!
It would be cool if you posted some pictures in this thread after you get a cake built up.

morton, that is why I love Dublins so much, they are awesome for smoking flakes.
shawn, I will do that one day, but believe it or not, my collection is far from the most extensive here. Guys like bigvan, Yachtexplorer, old cajun just to name a few have way more and varied than mine. Mine is just beginning to take shape again. I used to have a much more extensive one back in 08. I began collecting again only since May and was kind of all over the place in the beginning. I am now much more focused on what I like.
bulldog, I will certainly do that. If this pipe holds to form like my other brand new Rad, it builds cake fairly quickly.

I have had a straight Dublin and a rusticated or sandblasted Dublin on my wish list for a while now. You got the best of both worlds in that pipe. Beautiful!

A real beaut. Always admired Rad's work. I am a total sucker for a good blast and Rad's blasts are always knocked outta the park. Enjoy bro.
