I now know why you got dinged for taxes: Pipe, plus your tobacco probably put you just shy of $200. Next time, split up the tobacco and pipe purchases, and you shouldn't have any more issues with taxes. For packages under $100.00 it usually passes through the system pretty fast, whereas declared values of over $100.00 seem to get noticed more often for the tax dollars. Good thing you didn't get assessed duty on the tobacco...seems they just taxed you on the whole amount.
If you like the Hyde Park and FVF, text me...I've got some cellared and aged up for you (I'm not a huge fan, and you can take them off my hands).
