Doing my usual pipe surfing online and saw that a bunch of new Briar Mr. Brog pipes have shown up on Amazon. I'm a big fan of their pear wood pipes already, and some of these briar models are really tempting - especially at the prices offered. Links to each pipe under the picture. I think my favorite is the last one...
So, some pictures of the new Briar Mr. Brog Pipes:

Yep, last one is my favorite. I wish they had listed the name.
P.S. Sorry some of the pics are so large, but I didn't take them, so there they are.

The No. 69 and the No. 100 kind of grab my eye. IIRC, Mr. Brog has offered a limited number of briar pipes for quite some time now, but I have not seen a lot of these particular shapes and models. Thanks for the heads up on these, they look pretty nice!

There's an interesting psychology here, my own, looking at several of these pipes. Because they are

within reach in price, my reluctance is accumulating pipes. Whereas when I sold a mountain bike

recently to buy a higher level pipe at deep discount, that was hardly a consideration. But Mr. Brog

briars are handsome pipes, none I wouldn't like to own. I agree the last one pictured is the most

dashing. They all have a presence. This opens the prospect of having a good pipe rotation and

impressive pipes for students, working guys and gals, and others who may not have a budget to get

into Petersons, let alone Radices, for quite a while. In the pipe trade, saving up doesn't always work because

a particular pipe or pipe series may be discontinued or sold before the money is saved up. A few

standards are always there, but you never know. I'm delighted the Savenelli 404 is still around as

I admire my 30-year-old example, with its beautiful honey-brown patina.
