The McClelland virginias are somewhat notorious for their "ketchup" tang. I have sampled a couple, did not care for them, but definitely found them very tangy. For straight, I'd start there. For VaPer tang, well, that's a whole 'nother animal. A good stout VaPer will give you all the tang you could want.

Really tangy-McClellend's Blackwoods flake. (pop the tin though, put the plastic top back on and let it sit for at least a month before you try it though)

is mcclelland's 5100 tangy and sour all the wsy to the bottom of the bowl or does the flavour die off?

Most of the Christmas Cheer vintages I've had have been pretty tangy. Also McCranie's Red Flake and Red Ribbon, which I think are tinned by McClelland, or processed by them.
