Meerschaum Update . . .

About 6 weeks ago I received my Pirate Meerschaum with a broken stem - agony! After contacting Ahmet at meerschaumpipemaster, he took down the info and said he would send another stem.

The stem arrived today ! It was extremely well packaged, but then the original package was great too. I honestly think it was Customs that broke the stem.

It's been a long wait, but worth it.

I have had a different experience with Ahmet. About six months ago, I ordered two custom carved pipes from him. I've been smoking meerschaum pipes for more than 30 years and know how careful to be with them. A few weeks ago, I discovered one of his pipes had developed two cracks - one deep vertical and one thinner horizontal. I've emailed Ahmet three times and have yet to hear from him. I had been really happy with his work and hope he lives up to his 'lifetime guarantee'. If he doesn't reply, I really don't know what I can do except warn others.
