So I have decided that Im going to shop for a pipe here in the next month or so. I have hopped on Ebay and looked at some Mario Grandi pipes, and I have to say that for the price they are some really nice looking pipes. The only problem is that outside of Ebay, the only place I can seem to find a Mario Grandi pipe is the occasional estate over at Smokingpipes.com. Not that there is anything wrong with Smokingpipes or Estate pipes, but I am curious if there are any other retailers online that have a good stock of Mario Grandi pipes. Also, for anyone that owns one, how do you like it? Do they smoke well, smoke bad, indifferent about them either way?

I have one and I really enjoy it. Outside my Chacoms it is probably one of my most smoked pipes. I got mine on ebay and as far as I know his daughter and one other ebay dealer are the only ones who sell his pipes new. With the grain on mine I think I got mine for a steal at $50. I have a saved search for his pipes and am always looking for another great deal on one of his pipes. Some of his more intricate pipes are amazing and it is odd the prices range of his pipes.
I think it smokes great. I smoke mostly aromatics and I do not get any gurgle from the one I have. I like the wide sturdy saddle bit as well. Gives me more to hold onto when I clinch. It is light in the hand and is thick enough when I puff like a freight train I can still hold it. I will get another one of his pipes one day, once I feel I have found another steel.
Pics of mine are below.

Thanks for including the pics eaglerico. One of the pipes I had my eye on looked sort of similar to that one, a poker shape, fully rusticated, unstained with a funky little bend in the stem, looked kind of different, and I think they only wanted $65 for it. Thanks for sharing your opinion, might have to snatch one here in the coming weeks.

From my understanding you can only buy brand new Mario Grandi pipes on ebay. Unless they are estate. I have a Grandi "Poker" and I am beginning to break it in. Be aware that the stem "platic piece" are kinda flimsy. Other than that I am enjoying it.

I have two of them, a churcwarden and a kinda-poker: both of them smoke very well and the cw, a tanblast, is coloring magnificently. So I would wholeheartedly endorse Grandi.

I also have one, this pickaxe shaped pipe. It is a great pipe, nice quality and smokes great. I would definitely buy another.

So as an update, I just hopped on Ebay again and saw a newly listed pipe that I am having a really, really, REALLY hard time not pulling the trigger on. What do you guys think of this one? The shape and finish just call to me for some reason. Damn I hate being broke

I think it's awesome, and I love the thickness of the bowl. I hope you can get it.
