I must say, they know how to make a pipe tamper...

Al Pascia also knows how to package and deliver...received in two days!

I have been lusting after this tamper/tool for a long time, and in last week's newsletter they finally had one back in stock. I decided to splurge (don't ask how much it was...you'll soil your pants if I told you) and pulled the trigger.

It has now replaced all my tools except one on my key ring (Czech tool)...

What do you think?

Gorgeous! I'm pretty much happy with my Czech tool, and I have a Brigham tamper, but that is one sharp looking piece.

I love Laguiole knives, the nicest french knives made today, I have a folding table knife that my great-grandfather used, so yeah, several generations of use for sure. The Opinels are nice too, but not really in the same league.

Laguiole knives are special. This pipe tool is a classic. When I was in France one time, I bought

the basic Laguiole folding knife with a wooden handle. They all have the Laguiole bee at the front

of the handle. It turns out my wife had a Laguiole cheese knife which has become a favorite of mine

in the kitchen. I guess the tamper on the pipe tool is the end of the tool when it's closed. A really

classy piece of craftsmanship all around.
