I spent today refinishing a very nasty ugly Kaywoodie White Briar I've had for a few years but never smoked. The white finish was chipped , the stem was all tore up with teeth marks and very oxidized, this is what I ended up with after a few hours of TLC.

Yea doesn't look half bad. I was expecting much worse to be underneath. I now have to see how it smokes.

Wow, that turned out real nice! I also have a "nasty" white briar Kaywoodie, perhaps I should give it the same treatment. Hope it smokes great for you!

I've always wondered about the older pipes that were painted. Did they use lead paint? Or had the use of lead paint stoped before they started making these pipes?
