I just received a few unopened packs of this stuff, and can't find much info about it. Can anyone help? I know it was distributed by JBR, but don't much else. Is this an Aro? English? Any help/comments would be appreciated!

That is the dealer in NJ who was the source of all the Balkan Sobranie that kept showing up on Ebay priced at $500 a tin. I remember the John Cotton No. 1 mixture but the stuff you have there I am afraid I draw a blank on. It may have been made for the US market but I don't recognize it at all. If I was to hazard a guess I would think it would be an English style blend. Open it and see!

Just smoked a bowl of this... interesting blend, I'd call it a medium strong full english. I think time has mellowed this some, but its still quite nice. Different than anything I've had, but nondescript nonetheless.

Wow, somehow I missed this thread.
Good score!
I've seen it said that this was pretty much the same as #1&2 Medium.
It was made by Gallaher.

The green color even looks like the Condor hue!
It was probably the last batches ever made of JC before the brand ended up being made in Denmark.
The trademark for JCM was first used in 1984, it expired in 1999...

This thread delves a little bit into JC,

...be sure to read the ATBOTH review, his description sounds very close to yours... http://atthebackofthehill.blogspot.com/2008/08/john-cotton-fine-old-reek.html
Very interesting stuff you got there,

thanks for sharing.

^^ Thanks mlc! I was thinking this was the end of the line production. Maybe they just mixed it all together when they were going out of business and sold it as "mixture"!

That ATBOTH site is awesome! My type of humour! :D
