I will post many pictures when I get a chance, but I couldn't contain myself. I went ahead and took some of my money from my insurance settlement and blew my load at Iwan Ries. 1 CAO meerschaum pipe, an Iwan Ries pipe, a tamper, and 7-8 tins of tobacco. Unfortunately we are on a family trip and staying with friends in there high rise so I may not get a chance to smoke anything until Tuesday.

I stopped in on Friday on my way through Chicago. I think I spent more on parking then I did in the shop.

My wife went on vacation to Chicago and I had her go there for me. She said I would LOVE it...DUH!!
She brought back some 3 star blue, there most popular blend, I didn't care for it much. Every now and then I load a bowl and see if maybe I will like it.
One day i wish to go there.

I was there yesterday. I bought a couple tins. I was looking for a canadian style pipe, but I couldnt find one I liked. Although I live 15 min from there, I spent more on parking than a delivery to my house.

The Navy Flake is very good, but make sure to let it dry. Its subtle, not packed with flavor but very good. I used to smoke a ton of it. University Flake is pretty much the opposite. Full bodied, lots of flavor and has a decent nic hit. Bob's Chocolate Flake is also very good. The chocolate is more in the background, its not heavy handed at all. The tobacco is high quality so it burns very well and you can taste the VA's as it gets further down the bowl.
All in all, I would say you made some excellent choices, sir.

I did! Made the wife walk away while he was totaling everything up. The Iwan Ries pipe smoked magnificently and was only $48. I assume the CAO meer will perform great too, but wasn't as cheap
