I read the post about Rothns Morta but I haven't heard much about Morta pipes generally, although I may have missed past threads as I am new to the site.
I have a collection of about 60 pipes (and counting!). I got my first Morta about 2 weeks ago and have smoked it a half-dozen times. It is a beautiful blast Lovat, crafted by Chris Askwith. The Morta is in this case 10,000 year-old bogwood from the peat bogs of Norfolk in England. The blast leaves a fine pinstripe stipple to the bowl which gives a lovely hand feel. It is incredibly light. Chris says it is well-suited to Latakia-containing blends and he is spot on. I have used it for my SG and GH Balkans, but it also serves GH Dark Flake very well.
I love it! Does anyone else have experience of Morta pipes and their smoking qualities?
