...I have a favor to ask - can you share a picture of the stem? I imagine it's the same design as in the Deluxe systems (with the aluminum condenser).
Thanks!

I had a mark twain set, bent and poker from 2014 and neither had a condensor.I dont know about the original ones from the 80 though.

I dont think any deluxe pipes have them now, although I may be wrong.

The end of the stem was like the condensor type with the condensor unscrewed if that makes sense, minus the internal screw thread.

That does make sense, thanks!
The current Deluxe System pipes still have the condenser, btw...

A certain number of Peterson's higher grades are produced this way - very like a Deluxe but without the condensor. I have a 140th anniversary that is the same - very good smoker.

My 1981 birth year M. Twain has no condenser and I can't remember seeing one with a condenser (maybe a question for the pete buffs on this forum)

My 1981 deluxe 3s has one however

Alright, I gave up.
I ordered one of the sets, new, without seeing the pipes live.
Damned PAD.

I got the smooth set several years ago. The Mark Twain was a poor quality briar which looked like the grain was painted on. The same for the Huck Finn poker, which smoked passably. I kept the poker, sold the other.
