I just got a tin of Mac Baren Roll cake , never smoked any of this and was curious on some packing methods. The tobaccos is like little coins.

That is a very good question.
And, one that is ripe for debate.
I personally prefer to "cube cut" my flakes, with two exceptions, PS Luxury Bulls Eye Flake, and Escudo.
I personally have never had any luck or success with a roll and stuff method.
I concur with Rothnh's opinion as to the importance of drying your flakes after "cube cutting".
As for tamping, that's an area that each of our "Repose of Pipers" have their preferred method.
I'm one of the few that tamps almost continually. (albeit lightly)
For me, that's the way to smoke a good flake.
