I would have said "Christmas" blend of choice, but I know there has to be some folks celebrating something different...
That said, what are you looking forward to enjoying during this special time of year? I also ask because I'd like some suggestions!

I recently got both McClelland's Holiday Spirit 2011 and Peterson's Christmas Blend 2011.
Let me first say that I smoke almost exclusively English type blends but since the weather has gotten colder here in upstate New York I have been suddenly craving aro's......
McClelland's has a very nutty pecan, bitter (good) dark chocolate, cinnamon aroma that I loved as it is not sweet. Very full aroma and lots of billowy smoke. I would think this is the perfect Holiday aro for the person that doesn't smoke aro's regularly but wants that special Holiday blend.
I actually had my first bowl of Peterson's today and as soon as I lit it up it was "WOW!" A sweet candied fruit aroma just as the tin describes... you feel like you could eat the smoke it is that flavorful...surprisingly I really enjoyed this blend also! Halfway through the bowl I had "visions of sugarplums dancing in my head!!"
I think that they are both different enough that you can't go wrong picking up a tin of each so you are ready for whatever mood hits you. To me McClelland's Holiday Spirit has that outdoor smoke kind of feel to it while the Peterson's Christmas Blend is one seems to be more enjoyable indoors in a comfy chair and a hot toddy of your choice!
Either way I don't think you can go wrong.....

I'm with rickpal on this one. I just got Holiday Spirit 2011 and like it it alot. Like Rick, I'm mostly an English smoker but during the cold months Holiday Spirit in a nice departure.

The B&M just got the Peterson Christmas Blend in so I guess I'll have to try that too.

Thanks for the feedback, Rick.

I still have a bowl or two worth of Peterson's Holiday blends from '09 and last year. Other than that I have to say De Luxe Mixture from Peterson is a great winter blend. Good mix of vanilla and nutty flavouring that screams holiday season.

I opened my tin of Haddo's Delight for this month. Think I need to get to Iwan Ries soon tho because I've had more than anticipated, not sure if it'll last threw Christmas...

McC Holiday Cheer is great, note is a lady killer as well and "thats all I'm goin to say about that".

McC Christmas Cheer 2011 is a personal favorite as well. I enjoy this mild smoke in the evenings. Both are pricy but worth every cent.

My holiday smokes will undoubtably include several aromatics because we eat so many cookies and other sweets over Christmas and New Year's. I'll smoke my Boswell aros, my Vermont Maple Cavendish from Pipeworks and Wilke, and several of the aros I have left over from the Altadis sampler I got a few years ago.

I have a couple years of Peteron's and MCs holiday blends.....never opened them. Thinking I may need to sample them.
