Being a bit disappointed with H&H Louisiana Red, AJ's Vaper and the Anniversary Kake I decided to spice them up a bit. To all three of them I added pure Perique, St. James Woods and Beacon Extra in various combinations and quantities. After 3 months the first test smoke revealed some horrible blends,some smokeable blends and a clear favourite: A mixture of AJ's Vaper and St. James Woods in the proportion 2.3/1.0.

Rather than try to create a new blend you might consider just adding a pinch of Perique to a Virginia blend, or VaPer, even a good Balkan.
That way when you just want that serious spice of Perique, it's upper and foremost in that bowl.

:Thanks Lawrence. I didn't feel that adding pure Perique made much of an improvement, but maybe I was too impatient, not waiting long enough for the Perique to take its proper front row position. I know from My Own Blend that a minimum of 6 months ageing produces the best result
